Hooray! We survived the first weekend of ACL! We were sweatin’ to the music, just not the oldies like Richard Simmons. Although a pair of dolphin shorts might have come in handy in the hot humid weather. But that didn’t keep anyone from coming out to one of the biggest music festivals in the country. The opening of the gates in the morning was pretty epic. Check out our video of people bum rushing the gate here.

The park was buzzing with excitement and we are happy to say we had a great turnout at the booth for the first weekend at the festival. We saw lots of action. We met people from all over the country and got to share our mission with them. Many also entered our awesome Led Zeppelin Super Deluxe IV box set which will continue through next weekend. Drawing will be on Monday, 10/13. Winners will be notified via phone call.

We also saw many great acts including Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue who totally rocked the stage roof!

In addition, our all-girl Anthropos Arts horn group played with the lovely Elizabeth McQueen (former vocalist of Asleep At The Wheel) at the Austin Kiddie Limits stage. The girls did great as they showed off their musical chops in solos!

If you are going to be at the festival next weekend come out and see our students play again at the Austin Kiddie Limits stage with Elizabeth McQueen. They will be playing on Friday 10/10 at 12:30pm and Saturday 10/11 at 1:30pm. In addition, swing by our booth and see us! Enter the Led Zeppelin raffle and meet our awesome students. Our booth is located at the ACL Cares Row right beside the main entrance on Barton Springs. See you there!
