This month, Austin Monthly features Anthropos Arts and two other Austin organizations for programs that “not only to foster creative minds, but also to instill confidence and pride in achieving goals.” Learning music from a trusted adult is so much more than getting the notes right. Our students tell us – and show us with their achievements – that music opens doors of opportunity for them. You can read the article here.
One of our 8th grade students recently said, “I felt really
unwanted, but when I got to play my solo and EVERYONE clapped for me I realized I’m not unwanted I’m needed.” We could not have put it any better.
Thanks, Austin Monthly! And a huge shout out to Kids in a New Groove and Roots and Rhythms, the other two organizations featured in the article.
There are lots of opportunities coming up for YOU to see Anthropos Arts students perform. On April 9th, they are participating in Fusebox Festival in the Battle of the Golden Ages: Cumbia vs. Hip Hop with a host of amazing Austin musicians. Bring your dancing shoes!
