Last month, the I Live Here, I Give Here blog shed some light on youth service providers in Texas who are helping to combat bullying in its many forms. As an organization that works with under served youth,we find their missions to be near and dear to our heart. We want to help spread the word about the great work these organizations do. Here are the three phenomenal non-profits they highlighted and who you should know about!

The Center for Child Protection is a child-friendly facility where children who have been sexually abused, severely physically abused, or those who have witnessed a violent crime go for evidence gathering, medical exams, and intervention. After an initial forensic interview, children may return to the Center for support services such as therapy to help them heal from their trauma. Protective parents or caregivers may also return for therapy, parent groups or coaching.
The CARE (Child Abuse Resource and Education) Program at Dell Children’s Medical Center provides medical and psychosocial assessments of children in whom abuse and/or neglect is suspected. The CARE Program works with clinical specialists as well as community partners to provide care to approximately 350 children a year. The team’s goals are to ensure that children are safe and that child maltreatment is identified and managed appropriately.
Standing up to bullies and against bigotry is never easy – particularly for young people. This is why the Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate initiative empowers school communities to tackle prejudice, bullying and intergroup conflict. No Place for Hate ensures that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of school curriculums. No Place for Hate was introduced locally 10 years ago and now reaches more than 300 campuses across Central Texas.
